By Ditlev

The domain name is an essential part of any web site and registering it can be a tricky business. The good people at Nominet have written a guide on how to pick the right domain name.

I thought I’d pass on their recommendations and paste their guide below:

Happy Leap Year, St. David’s Day and Mothers Day!

By Nicola

Hi all,

I just wanted to wish you all a “Happy Leap Year!”

Yup 2008 has a grand total of 366 days. The extra day being today, February 29th, is to compensate for the 365 days and 6 hours that the Earth takes to revolve around the sun. So every 4 years we get to have an extra day of work - booooo!

On a more quirky note February 29th is also the day that women are entitled to propose to men. Nothing as exciting as that has happened here in the office today though :-(

Blades of Glory

By Keira

As part of the celebrations in the run up to Christmas, UK2 is always very nice to its employees.

Last night was no exception as members of the marketing and sales department, and our honorary marketeer/teaboy Paul, were treated to an evening of ice skating at the beautiful Somerset House. Since I helped to organise and plan the evening, it was suggested that I should write a blog about it today.

However, being one of the designers at UK2, and passionate about photography, means I am a bit more visually inclined so I have decided to forego the usual journalistic type account and just show you the evening in pictures. Here then, are all the thrills (who knew that so many people at UK2 were closet figure skaters?) , spills (and boy were there a lot of those!), laughs and tearjerking moments.

A Fantastic Night …

By Nicola

… even though we didn’t win an award.

Unfortunately we didn’t get the award we wanted at the PC Pro event last night, but it was an amazing evening and everyone at UK2 had a fab time.

We all met in Bar 190 in South Kensington, and I think you’ll agree we looked the part - kitted out in our best frocks and tuxedos!

7 Reasons Why You Should Love Public Transport!

By The Orange Fuzzy Thing

Hi everyone, as this is my first post, I’d like to introduce myself first, my name is the Orange Fuzzy Thing and I represent the UK2 Clan, part of the Brotherhood of the FuzzyBugs. We play a vital role within UK2 by sitting aimlessly on desks, monitors and even phones and cleverly motivate our human counterparts with our cuteness and Jedi mind tricks. Yes we are the brains behind the operation.

Unlike the rest of the bugs here, I actually do get to get out of the office once in a while and experience the wonders of your world; so I have decided to share this with everyone here, through my little eyes.

For my first post, I want to tell you 7 reasons why you should love Public Transport too!
